Plan To Charge $25 For Premium Taste Seats Passes Council Panel
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Attendees at this year's Taste of Chicago can eat like a king or queen--if they're willing to pay more for it.
Mayor Emanuel's proposal to charge for select seating to watch bands in Grant Park and to eat upscale chef-prepared meals moved a step closer to passage.
A City Council committee approved the plan that would charge $25 for premium seats at the Petrillo Bandshell and $40 for a three-course meal.
The proposal moves to the full city council next week.
