Peavy Starts Laying Foundation For Healthy Return

Chicago White Sox pitcher Jake Peavy will be one of the biggest factors to the success of the team this season. As a result, both Peavy and the team are not rushing him into too much at the start of training camp.

"Nice and easy" is the way Peavy described his throwing workout on Thursday. "It wasn't anything too much, just a good side session. Location was good."

Every time Peavy takes the ball during spring training he's sure to have the eyes of manager Ozzie Guillen, general manager Ken Williams and the medical staff focused on him.

"Both of them liked what they saw, but at the same time they just want me to just take as much time as I need," Peavy said of what Guillen and Williams had to say after his side session. "When I get back they want me to be there for the long haul...that's something I want as well."
