Woman found dead in Oswego; suspect in custody amid homicide investigation
Police are conducting a homicide investigation after a woman was found dead on Tuesday afternoon in a subdivision in west suburban Oswego.
Around 1:10 p.m., Oswego police responded to a home in the 400 block of Valentine Way, after receiving a call from a man who believed his wife was in danger. The man told police he had seen her ex-husband run after her into their garage.
When police arrived at the home, they found the woman unresponsive inside, and paramedics later pronounced her dead at the scene. An autopsy has been scheduled for Thursday to determine a cause of death, but investigators believe the suspect followed the woman inside her garage and attacked her. The victim's name and age have not been released.
A witness reported seeing a suspect fleeing the scene, and after a search involving a drone and a K-9 unit, officers found the suspect and took him into custody.
Police said this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.
