1 dead, 1 injured after stabbing at Chick-fil-A in Oswego, Illinois
A person was taken into custody after two people were stabbed, one of them fatally, hours apart at a Chick-fil-A in west suburban Oswego, Illinois, on Wednesday.
Police said, around 5 a.m., officers responded to the Chick-fil-A in the 2700 block of Route 34 for a report of a stabbing. At the time, it was reported that a victim was holding down the suspect at the scene.
When officers arrived, they took a man into custody, and began treating the victim until medics could take him to the hospital for treatment.
After questioning the suspect, officers conducted a sweep of the restaurant and found a second stabbing victim, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators believe the suspect stabbed one man shortly after 3 a.m., and another man at around 5 a.m. A witness who saw the second stabbing called police.
Police said the motive for the stabbings remained under investigation Wednesday afternoon.
