New Web Site Collects Information On Skyscrapers

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Skyscraper enthusiasts and those in the tall building business now have a new Web site for reference purposes.

As WBBM Newsradio's Pat Cassidy reports, SkyscraperCenter.com claims to be the world's most complete resource for information on tall buildings.

Launched by the Chicago-based Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat, the site profiles every building in the world higher than 656 feet, or 200 meters.

China now has 11 of the top tallest in the world.

The site says the only U.S. building in the top ten is Chicago's Willis Tower, which was the tallest building in the world as recently as the mid-1990s.

The Empire State Building in New York, which had a long run as the world's tallest building, has now fallen to 18th.
