Naperville Woman Stabbed By Son Remains In Hospital

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A Naperville woman remains in intensive care after her son allegedly stabbed her when she offered to make him a sandwich.

Prosecutors say Alexander Georg stabbed his mother repeatedly in the chest and neck Thursday afternoon in front of their Naperville home.

He has been charged with attempted murder, and a judge set bond at $1.5 million.

Detectives say the crime was so vicious that the butcher knife snapped, and that the stabbing only stopped when his mother played dead.

The 27 year old had just returned home from a hospital where he had been committed when the alleged crime took place.
