Naperville Teen Dies After SUV Slams Into Tree
NAPERVILLE, Ill. (STMW) - A teenager died after the SUV he was driving struck a tree early Saturday in west suburban Naperville.
Thomas Gleason, 18, of the 2700 block of Fox River Lane, was pronounced dead at 1:52 a.m. at Edward Hospital in Naperville, according to the DuPage County Coroner's office.
Gleason was driving a 2006 Nissan Pathfinder about 1 a.m. when the SUV struck a tree in the front lawn of 1845 Fox River Drive, according to a release from Naperville police. Gleason was the only person inside the vehicle that was westbound on Canyon Run before it slammed into the tree.
Gleason was not wearing a seat belt, according to the release.
Naperville police are investigating.
