Minnesota Wild gets a Blackhawk

With the Blackhawks spreading their players around to other teams for the salary cap, one more former player is picked up by another team. The Minnesota Wild has agreed to a one-year contract with former Blackhawk center John Madden. The details of the contract were not disclosed, however.

The Wild has been wanting to add depth at center for the past few seasons and had their eyes on Mike Modano. However, Modano signed with Detroit instead.

John Madden has made it to the playoffs in every one of his full 10 years in the NHL. He has also won three Stanley Cups, including the one for the Blackhawks this past season. The 37 year-old had 10 goals and 13 assists in 79 games for Chicago.
