1 killed, 3 injured when Metra train hits SUV in South Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) -- One person was killed and three others were injured when a Metra train hit an SUV overnight in the South Chicago neighborhood.
A northbound Metra Electric line train hit an SUV around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday at the crossing near 87th and Baltimore.
Four people were in the SUV at the time. One person was killed, and three others were taken to hospitals for treatment, but their injuries were not immediately available.
A Metra spokesperson said no passengers were on the train at the time. It had finished its run and was being moved for a future route.
Investigators have not said what led to the crash.
Metra said the crash would not impact Metra Electric service on Wednesday.
