Man Tries To Lure Girl Walking To School
CHICAGO (STMW) - Police are looking for a man who attempted to lure a girl in the Douglas neighborhood on the South Side last week.
The man approached a 12-year-old girl walking to school about 7:15 a.m. on Aug. 23 in the 2600 block of South Indiana Avenue, according to a community alert from Area Central detectives. He repeatedly moved into her path to prevent her from getting around, but she eventually ran away.
The suspect is described as a white man in his mid-50s with a light complexion, short hair, gray beard and brown eyes, police said. He is about 5-foot-8 and 150 pounds.
He was last seen wearing a blue Cubs baseball cap with a red "C" on the front, a dark blue short-sleeve T-shirt and blue jeans, police said.
Anyone with information should call Area Central detectives at (312) 747-8380.
