Man Shot, Killed In Austin Neighborhood

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man was shot and killed late Sunday in the West Side Austin neighborhood.

Police found the 38-year-old man about 11 p.m. in a vehicle with multiple gunshot wounds in the 4900 block of West Hubbard Street, police News Affairs Officer Hector Alfaro said.

Sources said he was shot in a car parked in front of his home.

Police officers were waved down by a witness who reported seeing a dark-colored vehicle driving away from the scene after the shooting, police said.

The man was pronounced dead at 11:25 p.m. at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner's office. His identity was not being released pending family notification.

No one is in custody and Grand Central Area detectives are investigating.
