CHICAGO (STMW) - Authorities are searching for a man who robbed a bank Tuesday afternoon on the Magnificent Mile in the Loop.

The man entered a bank in the 500 block of North Michigan Avenue at 4:56 p.m. and demanded money from a teller, police News Affairs Officer Veejay Zala said. He was handed over cash and fled on foot.

The robber is described as a black man, 5-foot-9 with a medium build, Zala said. He was wearing a black puffy coat during the robbery.

He was not in custody Tuesday night.

Belmont Area detectives and the FBI are investigating.
