Man Killed In Near North Side Domestic Stabbing; Woman Arrested

CHICAGO (CBS) -- A man is dead and a woman was in police custody Wednesday morning, after a domestic stabbing in a Near North Side apartment.

Police responded around 1:45 a.m. to the apartment in the 1400 block of North Sedgwick Street. The block is the site of the Marshall Field Garden Apartments, a private subsidized housing development on the northeast edge of the old Cabrini-Green neighborhood.

Responding officers found Maurice D. Wilson, 22, with a stab wound to the chest.

Wilson, of the 11300 block of South Forrestville Avenue, was pronounced dead soon afterward at Northwestern Memorial Hospital, police said.

A woman was arrested connection with the domestic stabbing, police said.

Further details of the stabbing have not been released, and police have not specified a motive.
