Man Found Fatally Shot In Head In Aurora
AURORA (CBS) -- A 26-year-old Joliet man was fatally shot in the head in Aurora Tuesday night.
Just before 9 p.m., Aurora Police were dispatched to the area of Spruce Street and Elmwood Drive for a call of several shots fired.
When officers got to the scene they discovered the victim, Quiane D. Smith, lying in a yard in the 1000 block of Spruce with a gunshot wound to the head, a release from police said.
Smith, of the 400 block of Madeline Street in Joliet, was pronounced dead at the scene.
As of Wednesday morning, police have no suspect descriptions and a motive has yet to be established.
Police are asking anyone with information to call detectives at (630) 256-5500 or Aurora Area Crime Stoppers at (630) 892-1000.
Callers to Crime Stoppers are anonymous and qualify for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to any arrests in the case.
An autopsy on Smith is scheduled for Wednesday morning at the Kane County Coroner's Office.
