Man, 59, dies after being shot in head on Far South Side, CPD says
A 59-year-old man was killed in a shooting Tuesday evening on the city's Far South Side.
It happened shortly after 6 p.m. in the 10500 block of South Eggleston Avenue in the Fernwood neighborhood.
Chicago police said the man suffered a gunshot wound to the head from unknown gunfire.
He was taken to Christ Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Area detectives are investigating.
