Man Attempts To Rob Bank In Hyde Park

CHICAGO (STMW) - A man attempted to rob a bank Tuesday afternoon in the Hyde Park neighborhood on the South Side.

The robbery occurred about 4 p.m. at Chase Bank, 1204 E. 53rd St. when a man approached the teller with a note requesting money, Prairie District Lt. John Garrido said. He fled on foot before he received any money.

He is described as African-American in his early 40s, 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-8 with brown eyes, according to the website Bandit Tracker Chicago. The man did not display a weapon.

No one was injured, Garrido said.
