Les Grobstein Show - 10/06/11 *UPDATE*

GROBBER---Oct 6,2011
==================
***It's still early,but the Bears no doubt have their hands full Monday night when they face Calvin Johnson and the Detroit Lions offense. Lovie Smith has assured concerned Bears Fans that they will adjust and get the out of kilter defense back on track. It was interesting that Lovie said that the Bears defense "outplayed their(Carolina's)defense" which is not really true.The Bears defense made one big play,and it was early when D.J.Moore picked off a deflected Cam Newton pass and scored. Also,Devin Hester's punt return for his NFL record 11th such touchdown were two key reasons they won. Carolina had several chances to take the lead and even put it away in the fourth quarter,but the Bears escaped with a win. Granted, that's how this defense is designed,but it's continuing to drive Bear Fans nuts.

***The Lions became the first NFL team EVER to rally from 20 or more deficits to win in back to back games, but I will predict right now that even with the Bears being very inconsistent, that if THEY get 20 points up on Detroit, they will hand the team in Honolulu Blue and Silver their first loss. Of course,that while I'm not doing my weekly picks until Friday morning, I will say that the Bears will not ever lead Detroit by 20 points or more.

***Had my worst week of picks at 11-5, which isn't all that bad. 49-15 through four weeks is an overachievement for me,but I'll take it.

***Saturday, Illinois should cream Indiana in the first Illini road game of the season, and Northwestern with Dan Persa available against Michigan Saturday night should be competitive,but I can't see them stopping Mr.Robinson.
