Korver: With Healthy Rose, Bulls Can Win Title

(WSCR) The sentiment is simple, but Kyle Korver knows the truth.

"The goal is a championship and we're not going to win a championship unless we have (Derrick Rose) healthy," Korver told The McNeil and Spiegel Show on Tuesday.

Without Rose, the Bulls lost back-to-back games for the first time since February of 2011.

Still, Korver and the Bulls know that attempting to push Rose back before he's ready will only cost them in the long run.

"Obviously we'd rather have Derrick playing for a lot of reasons," Korver said. "We're not going to get to where we want to be unless we have him playing at a high level. Injuries happen, especially this year. I've only had a pulled muscle once, but the advice that I got was to wait until you feel like you're all the way healed and then wait another week, because if it pulls again, you're usually out for a really long time."

If Rose is healthy, Korver believes the team can fight through the injuries and shortened schedule to bring the Bulls the seventh NBA championship in franchise history.

"We feel like we have more than enough to win," Korver said. "We go into every game believing that we're going to win. It's been a tough year in a lot of ways. It's a lot of games and there's not a lot of practice time. A lot of guys are hurt and a lot of guys that are playing are hurt, but you're just trying to pipe through it. It's been a grind of a year. All said and done, it hasn't been a good little stretch for us, but we're still in first place."
