Justin Rose Will Continue To Let It Ride

Justin Rose moved from no chance to win the FedEX Cup to one of the five favorites in one week, such is the nature of the playoffs.

By winning last week at the BMW Championship, Rose won his third time on the PGA Tour in the last two years, but in regards to how much a win could mean to his wallet, Rose's win at Cog Hill could be the most significant.

Now Rose, at No. 3 in the FedEx Cup standings, can make a career in one week.

"I spoke last week about having nothing to lose because I wasn't even in the tournament here in Atlanta, and I guess that's still the same mindset," Rose said in his pre-tournament press conference on Tuesday. "I'm viewing this as an opportunity rather than now trying to worry about my position and trying to just think about it from the perspective of nothing to lose once again. I haven't been in this situation all year, so just let it ride."

Golf and gambling go hand in hand, but usually not inside the ropes in professional golf, but Rose sounds like he should be in Vegas versus Atlanta.

"Last week the check didn't enter into my mind once until I saw the number, and I was like, whoa, that's a big check," Rose said of the $1.44 million he won last week.

Now the amount of money on the line jumps to a different stratosphere with an ultimate bonus of $10 million going to the playoff winner.

"The key and the strategy still is to do what you do best, to use all your skills, to stay in the moment, to keep it one shot at a time," Rose said. "I think that's what makes winning the FedExCup a huge challenge is to deal with the pressure of the $10 million and keep your game in shape and in check."

Let's see how well that works.
