Cook County officials are looking for nearly 2,000 former property owners who are due money after a foreclosure.
The county's Mortgage Foreclosure Surplus Fund holds $16 million--money that belongs to the owners of foreclosed property.
It's a simple process to find out if you are due any money. Visit the Cook County Circuit Court Clerk's website and see if your name is listed. If it is, call the clerk's office.
