CHICAGO (CBS) — A Weather Alert is in effect Thursday evening as numerous storms are expected to develop, potentially containing damaging hail and wind. An isolated tornado is also possible.


Ahead of the storm, the hottest temperatures of the year continue, with overnight lows in the middle 70s and highs topping 90 degrees.

Most rain is expected during the Thursday evening commute, beginning around 5 p.m. and continuing until 10 p.m.


Cooler, less humid weather returns briefly on Friday and Saturday. Heat, humidity, and another storm chance will begin on Father's Day and continue into next week.
