CHICAGO (CBS)-- Several semi-truck cabs were damaged by a large fire early Monday morning in south suburban Harvey.

The fire started around 3 a.m. at the FORE Transportation trucking company lot at 167th Street and Lathrop Avenue.

More than a dozen semi-truck cabs in the center of the lot were damaged, but the trucking company's building was left unscathed.

Video recorded by a neighbor showed large clouds of smoke, and some flames coming from the area. The neighbor described what he heard as a "huge explosion."

"There were explosion after explosion that woke my family up out of their sleep. It sounded like mortar fire. It was really huge. It sounded like a warzone, and I was concerned about safety, as far as what's in the smoke. There are some industrial companies back here; not sure what they're hauling," Gerald Sconyers said.

It was unclear if any hazardous materials were stored in the truck lot.

Harvey officials have not provided further details. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
