Former NFL players file law-suit over Madden NFL games

As many as 6,000 former NFL players banded together to file a class-action lawsuit against Electronic Arts. Why you ask? Well, it seems EA has been using the players in its Madden NFL video games without permission or due compensation.

EA is claiming they have changed some of the players' profiles and attributes just enough to avoid the licensing requirements from the NFL Players Association. The suit claims this "In this way, EA has exploited the retired players by using their valuable likenesses and publicity rights."

Former Bengals (1976–1978) and Buccaneers (1979–1981) player Tony Davis is named the plaintiff for the suit and seeks punitive damages based on all profits made from Madden games sold from July 29, 2008 to the present.
