Former Bears Pro Bowler Ron Smith Dies
(CBS) Following a brief battle with lung cancer, former Bears defensive back and Pro Bowl kick returner Ron Smith died Sunday. He was 70.
Smith joined the Bears in 1965 after going undrafted out of Wisconsin. He played 10 seasons, making the Pro Bowl in 1972 as a kick returner.
Through his career, Smith recorded 13 interceptions during his career as a defensive back.
