Ex-Cub Wellemeyer Rejoins Organization
Todd Wellemeyer was a fourth round draft pick by the Chicago Cubs in the 2000 MLB Draft. And according to a report, will rejoin the Cubs.
Accoridng to Paul Sullivan, of the Chicago Tribune, Wellemeyer will rejoin the organization on a minor-league deal and will compete for a bullpen opening during spring training.
Wellemeyer played for the Cubs from 2003 to 2006. In addition, Wellemeyer has had stops in Kansas City, Florida, St. Louis and most recently San Fransisco. The Giants released Wellemeyer in August after he went 3-5 with a 5.68 earned run average over the 2010 season.
