Estate Sale Set At Topinka's Riverside Home This Weekend
CHICAGO (CBS) -- An estate sale was being held Thursday at the home of the late Judy Baar Topinka, a longtime fan of estate sales herself.
Topinka, the former Illinois State Comptroller, Illinois State Treasurer, and state lawmaker, loved to go to estate sales and garage sales.
The estate sale at her home in Riverside runs from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, at 380 Herrick Road.
Everything from 19th century oil paintings to evening gowns and German beer steins can be found for sale. There are also lots of everyday items; like toasters, coffee pots, ceramic animals, a large TV, VHS tapes, CDs, DVDs, and more than 1,000 pieces of clothing – some of them brand new, with tags still attached.
Topinka died in December at age 70.
