Drug Overdose Triggers Hazmat Response In Ravenswood
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A drug overdose triggered a hazmat scare in Ravenswood Saturday.
Around 1:15 p.m., Chicago police found a 29-year-old man unresponsive in an apartment near Damen and Montrose and an unknown substance -- later confirmed to be fentanyl -- nearby.
Chicago Fire Department teams put on special hazmat gear to go through the crime scene because even a small amount of the drug can be deadly.
Police say the man was taken to Swedish Covenant Hospital and his condition has stabilized.
