Does Martz want a veteran backup QB on the Bears roster?
The Bears enter 2010 with three backup quarterbacks in their organization who have little or no NFL experience. Caleb Hanie and Brett Basanez have played three games combined and Dan LeFevour was drafted just a few weeks ago. On Sunday, following the final day of rookie mini-camp, Offensive Cooridinator Mike Martz addressed the issue of inexperienced backup quarterbacks. The Tribune reports that Martz said, "[A veteran] just kind of gives you that insurance and pads it a little bit. I think from that aspect it would make us all feel a little bit easier with a veteran. But you just never know.''
