Cubs To Decline Samardzija Option
(WSCR) The Cubs have decided to decline the $3 million option on reliever Jeff Samardzija's contract.
Samardzija is not arbitration eligible and is still under club control, so the team will sign him to a small contract.
Over four seasons in Chicago, Samardzija has a 4.40 ERA. He's coming off a season where he went 8-4 with a 2.97 ERA in 75 games.
