Cubs Sign RHP Andury Acevedo
(CBS) The Cubs have signed right-handed reliever Andury Acevedo to a deal for 2016, they announced Thursday.
The 25-year-old Acevedo has spent the past four years in the Yankees' minor league system. He was 1-2 with a 2.31 ERA in 11 2/3 innings at Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre last season. He had a 2.59 ERA across three different levels in 59 total innings last year.
The Cubs' 40-man roster now stands at 31 players.
