Cubs Send Guerrier, Neal To DL; Wait On Navarro
(CBS) The Cubs have placed right-handed pitcher Matt Guerrier and outfielder Thomas Neal on the 60- and 15-day disabled list, respectively, the club announced Thursday.
Guerrier injured his right elbow, while Neal dislocated his right shoulder.
Surprisingly, catcher Dioner Navarro, who suffered a right ankle bruise after a violent collision with Chase Utley and was carted off the field on Wednesday, wasn't placed on the DL as he awaits MRI results.
"I was scared," Navarro said. "I thought it was going to be worse than what it was. I tape my ankles when I play, so I guess the tape did its job and I'm fortunate."
The Cubs called up catcher J.C. Boscan and pitcher Eduardo Sanchez to fill out the 25-man roster.
