Cubs Hire Rehman As Assistant GM
(CBS) The Cubs announced Monday they have named Shiraz Rehman as the club's assistant to the general manager, reporting to Jed Hoyer.
Rehman spent the past six seasons with the Diamondbacks club's director of player personnel. He also held the titles of director of baseball operations and manager of baseball operations after joining the organization as a baseball operations assistant in 2005.
The hire of Rehman continues the Cubs overhaul of their front office that has seen a new president of baseball operations in Theo Epstein, a new GM in Hoyer and a new director of scouting and player development in Jason McLeod.
