Cubs Claim P Ortiz From Rangers
(CBS) The Cubs have claimed left-hander Joseph Ortiz off waivers from the Rangers and added him to their 40-man roster, they announced Monday.
The 24-year-old Ortiz spent the 2014 season primarily in Double-A for the Rangers after starting the season on the 60-day disabled list with a fractured foot.
In 2013 in the big leagues, he was 2-2 with a 4.23 ERA in 32 appearances out of the bullpen for Texas.
