Woman stabbed to death at CTA Green Line station on Chicago's West Side
Chicago Police late Thursday were looking for a man who stabbed a woman to death at a CTA Green Line station on the city's West Side.
At 1 p.m., the 25-year-old woman was outside at the Central Avenue Green Line station with a man when they got into a quarrel and a physical altercation with a 54-year-old man, police said.
The older man took out a knife and stabbed the woman in the back, and then ran off, police said.
The woman was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where she died, police said.
The man accused of stabbing the woman was arrested, and a weapon was recovered. Charges were pending late Thursday.
A police source said the quarrel started as a quarrel on the platform, which then spilled into the street.
Police closed the Central Avenue station while they investigated, but it later since reopened and service has resumed.
