5 People Injured In Crash On Outbound Stevenson Expressway At Damen Avenue
CHICAGO (CBS) -- Five people were injured in a crash Wednesday afternoon on the outbound Stevenson Expressway at Damen Avenue.
At 2:19 p.m., Illinois State Police District Chicago troopers were called to the scene for a three-vehicle crash.
State Police said one driver was traveling in the middle lane while two others were in the left lane. The first car changed lanes and hit a second, and then swerved around and hit a third car, state police said.
The driver of the second car was taken to a local hospital, and the driver of the first car was likewise hospitalized along three children who were passengers. All had non-life-threatening injuries.
All outbound lanes of the expressway were shut down for about 45 minutes following the crash.
The crash was under investigation Wednesday afternoon.
