Cops: 625-Pound Gang Member Locked Up For Guns And Drugs

CHICAGO (STMW) - Bond was set at $75,000 on Wednesday for a West Side gangbanger arrested Tuesday night after guns and drugs were found in his home.
Maurice Douglas, 31, of the 4700 block of West Gladys Avenue, was charged with five counts of unlawful use of a weapon by a felon and one count of possession of heroin, according to police. He also was cited for not having a valid Firearm Owner's Identification Card (FOID).
On Wednesday, Douglas was ordered held on $75,000 bond and a preliminary hearing was set for Nov. 2, Cook County State's Attorney's office spokesman Andy Conklin said.
The Harrison Area gun team executed a search warrant at the Gladys Avenue address and about 8 p.m. Tuesday, he was arrested because officers found 17 grams of heroin, four handguns and an assault rifle, according to police.
Douglas, who told police he is 625 pounds, is a gang member who has a criminal history, police said.
His nickname is "Reece" and police said Douglas reported his weight on arrest records as 311 pounds in 1996, 350 in 2001, and 400 in 2003. He is 6-feet tall.
Harrison Area detectives are investigating.
