At least 6 people killed, 4 injured in weekend shootings in Chicago, CPD says

At least four people were killed, and three others were wounded in weekend shootings across Chicago as of Monday morning.

The ages of the victims range from 17 to 40, according to Chicago police.

The Chicago Police Department did not issue any notifications about shootings on Friday evening or at any point on Saturday. But there were several on Sunday, and many of them were fatal.

Shootings from Sunday

  • At 2:03 a.m., a 23-year-old woman was inside a residence in the 1100 block of North Lawler Avenue when two men fired shots toward the residence. The woman was shot in the arm and was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County ins serious condition.
  • At 4:10 a.m., a man was transported to the 2700 block of West Lithuanian Plaza Court by a black sport-utility vehicle and was dropped off. He had been shot once in the head and was pronounced dead at Holy Cross Hospital. The location where the man was shot is not known.
  • At 4:46 a.m., a 40-year-old man was inside a home in the 1800 block of South Springfield Avenue when unknown people opened fire from the rear doorway. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was pronounced dead at Mount Sinai Hospital.
  • At 10:19 a.m., in the 3100 block of West Warren Boulevard, a 37-year-old man was inside a home when someone entered the building and shot him. The victim suffered three gunshot wounds to his body and was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County, where he was pronounced dead.
  • At 4:30 a.m. in the 6400 block of South Drexel Avenue, a 36-year-old woman was found unresponsive in the alley with multiple gunshot wounds to the body and was pronounced dead on scene.
  • At 3:43 p.m. in the 6700 block of South Langley Avenue, a 28-year-old man was in the alley when an unknown offender inside a white vehicle fired multiple gunshots in the victim's direction. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to his right hip and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in critical condition. The offending vehicle fled in an unknown direction. 
  • At 5 p.m. in the 7800 block of South Peoria Street, a 27-year-old man was exiting a vehicle when an unknown offender traveling in a dark colored SUV fired gunshots in the victim's direction. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the right side of his body. The victim self-transported to St. Bernard Hospital in good condition. The offending vehicle fled in an unknown direction.
  • At 6:30 p.m., a 19-year-old man was traveling in a vehicle in the 5800 block of West Walton Street when he was approached by a man who shot at him multiple times. The victim suffered one gunshot wound to the hand and leg, and his car crashed into a parked car before coming to a stop. The victim died at Mount Sinai Hospital.
  • At 9:17 p.m., a 37-year-old man was sitting in his vehicle in the 100 block of East 118th Pl., when he suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his body. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
  • At 9:38 p.m., a 17-year-old girl was in a vehicle in the 1800 block of North Latrobe Avenue when she was shot by an unknown person. The victim suffered a gunshot wound to the back and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition.

Unless otherwise noted, no arrests were made in the above incidents.
