Chicago Weather: Severe Storms Approaching; Hot, Humid Day With Heat Index Near 100 Degrees
CHICAGO (CBS)-- It's going to be a hot day and severe storms are approaching.
Chicago is facing a risk of severe weather. Areas north of I-80 have been upgraded to a marginal risk for severe weather beginning at 11 a.m.
Damaging winds and the possibility of flooding are the biggest storm threats. CBS 2 meteorologists will continue to provide updates as the storm develops.
Tuesday's temperatures will be in the low 90s with a heat index near 100 degrees.
A Heat Advisory is in effect through 8 p.m. LaSalle, Kankakee, and Grundy counties.
The heat continues through the weekend. By Sunday, temperatures drop to the upper 80s and cool down by next week.
