Chicago Weather Alert: Showers, Freezing Rain; Winter Weather Advisory In Effect Until 7 P.M.
CHICAGO (CBS)-- Freezing rain is on the way.
A Winter Weather Advisory has been posted for McHenry, Lake, DuPage, Kane and DeKalb counties from until 7 p.m. for light icing due to periods of freezing rain and drizzle.
First Alert Weather models show areas north of Evanston are most impacted by threat of ice. A glaze to one tenth of ice is possible.
This will likely lead to slick road conditions for the afternoon and evening commute.
The rain and ice threat diminishes by this evening, and temperatures will crash into the teens for lows.
