Chargers' Travis Johnson fined for Bears hit

Chargers lineman Travis Johnson was fined $5,000 for a late hit against Bears running back Chester Taylor.  Since NFL players don't start getting a paycheck until the regular season starts, Johnson paid to play in the pre-season opener. In the second quarter, Travis Johnson dove on top of Taylor after he had already been tackled. The officials added 15 yards for the penalty but decided to fine him for a late hit as well. Johnson can attempt to appeal the fine.
