Car crashes into wall of Chicago South Side school, police say
CHICAGO (CBS) -- A driver is recovering after crashing their car into a school on the city's South Side Thursday morning.
The crash happened at the Gary Comer Youth Center in the 7200 block of South Chicago Avenue in the Grand Crossing neighborhood.
Police said officers who were on routine patrol when they watched the speeding car hit the wall of the school - causing minor damage.
The driver suffered a head injury and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.
Traffic citations were issued to the driver.
