Buddy Guy To Headline Jimi Hendrix Tribute Tour

CHICAGO (CBS) -- Buddy Guy is set to yet again be the centerpiece of a concert tour paying tribute to Jimi Hendrix.

Of the 27 February-March dates for the 2016 Experience Hendrix Tour, one will be in Chicago: On March 12 at the Chicago Theatre.

Ticket prices range from $34.50 to $94.50.

This will be sixth Hendrix tour for the Chicago blues guitar legend.

Guy was both an inspiration to as well as a personal friend of Hendrix.

Guy, along with other more than a dozen guitar legends like Zakk Wylde (formerly with Ozzy Osbourne) and blues soloist Kenny Wayne Shepherd. will play renditions of Hendrix classics.

The first Experience Hendrix Tour was a three-date string of shows on the west coast in 2004. It has grown to a national tour over the years.

"Jimi Hendrix was one of the greatest guitar players ever and we all need to keep his music alive," Guy said.
