Boy, 17, shot and wounded in Chicago's Chatham neighborhood

A 17-year-old boy was hospitalized early Monday after being shot in Chicago's Chatham community.

Police said at 1:36 a.m., the teen was walking in the 700 block of East 92nd Place when he heard gunshots and felt pain.

He had been shot in the buttocks, and was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.

There was no word on any arrests Monday morning. Calumet Area detectives were investigating.
