Bobby Jenks Regrets Comments Made About White Sox

CHICAGO (CBS) Former White Sox closer Bobby Jenks is ready to move on from the comments he made about Ozzie Guillen and the White Sox organization in the off-season and admitted that he regrets them.

"Sure I regret it, absolutely," Jenks told reporters Tuesday, including the Chicago Tribune's Mark Gonzales. "I spent a lot of time there."

Jenks returned from the disabled list Tuesday, just in time to face his former team in Game 2 of a three-game set in Boston. It marks the first encounter between the White Sox and Jenks since he made the strong comments.

"With the way Ozzie was talking this winter and the way he treated me, I don't want to fight with the guy," Jenks told MLB.com back in December. "How many times did he question my ability, and then saying how he would love to have me back, but I would have to come to spring training and fight for the closer's role like anyone else? Why would I come back to that negativity? I'm looking forward to playing for a manager who knows how to run a bullpen."

Those comments upset many within the White Sox organization, including Guillen and pitching coach Don Cooper. Now, with the White Sox sharing the same field as Jenks, the former closer is ready to move on.

"It's water under the bridge," Jenks said Tuesday. "I enjoyed my time in Chicago."
