Bitter Cold Temps For Chicago Area Sunday

(CBS) -- Bitter cold temperatures have moved into the Chicago area Sunday.

Sunday's high is 16 degrees, but temperatures are expected to drop throughout the day, eventually to a low of seven degrees in the overnight lows. With wind chills the temperature will feel like below-zero temperatures. It will be cloudy during the day before giving way to clear skies in the evening.

On Monday, there may be some snow late in the day with a high of 24.

CBS 2's Sandra Torres found some people spending the day outside.

"We try to take Sunday walks every week on this lake," said Kathy Yates. "We missed a couple weeks and we said sun is out, we might as well go out, it's a beautiful day, we'll just layer up," said Kathy Yates.

"I love this," said Paul Berlanga. "I grew up in cold like this. It's ok with me. I love getting out. You have to keep moving. You can't just stay in a warm apartment all afternoon."
