Bears Sign TE Zach Miller To A One-Year Extension
(CBS) The Bears announced they've signed tight end Zach Miller to a one-year contract extension. Miller's contract now runs through the end of the 2015 season.
Miller was originally selected by the Jacksonville Jaguars in the sixth-round of the 2009 draft. He was a former college quarterback at the University of Nebraska Omaha whom the Jaguars converted into a tight end.
Miller appeared in 33 games over the first three years of his career, recording 45 receptions, 470 yards and four touchdowns. Injuries have plagued Miller throughout is career. Last season with the Bears, Miller got off to a promising start in the preseason, catching six passes for 68 yards and two touchdowns against the Philadelphia Eagles. Miller then hurt his foot in the first quarter of the Bears' second preseason game versus the Jaguars and was again placed on injured reserve.
