Chicago Bears clinch first playoff spot since 2020 after Pittsburgh Steelers beat Detroit Lions

The Chicago Bears clinched a spot in the playoffs after the Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Detroit Lions 29-24 on Sunday.

It is the first time since 2020 that the Bears made it to the playoffs.

This comes after the Bears rallied through the fourth during Saturday night's game against the Packers. DJ Moore scored the game-winning 46-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Caleb Williams.

The Bears extended their lead in the NFC North to 11-4 with 1 1/2 games over the Packers.

Saturday's game also marked the team's sixth win in a row at home since their season-opening loss to the Minnesota Vikings.

The Bears are still trying to win the division with two games left in the regular season.

They will take on the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, Dec. 28, at Levi's Stadium in San Francisco.

Fans react to the Bears clinching a playoff berth

Soldier Field was decked out in Bear orange with the word "clinched" and coach Ben Johnson's slogan "Good, Better, Best" on Sunday night as people all across Chicago celebrated a major victory.

Bears fans are still in awe at the pure cinema the Bears displayed in the final minutes of overtime during Saturday night's game against the Packers.

Like many games, fans said they had severe anxiety, but this is the rejuvenation the city needs, and this playoff spot is well deserved.

"I have pessimism going forward, but at the same time I trust Ben Johnson and I trust Caleb Williams," Edward Brusic said.

"The last five games have been like playoff games for us, so we are used to the pressure. We are used to the stress, the anxiety," Ricardo Gonzalez said.

The Bears will be back here at Soldier Field in two weeks to play the Lions. That will be the final regular-season game before the playoffs start.
