CHICAGO (CBS) -- An upper-level disturbance may touch off a few showers or rumbles of thunder Sunday morning in the Chicago area. Then, the warm front will move through the area with warm, and southerly winds will carry a hot and humid air mass to the area. 

Temperatures will soar for several days. On Sunday, the heat index could reach 100 degrees. 

Monday will be the hottest day, with a heat index up to 105 degrees. Record heat is possible. Monday's Forecast is 97 degrees, which would break the current record of 96 degrees.
