CHICAGO (STMW) - Six children and four adults were taken to Northwestern Memorial hospital after a three-car wreck on north Lake Shore Drive in the Gold Coast neighborhood Sunday afternoon.

At 12:45 p.m., an EMS Plan I, which automatically sends at least five ambulances to the scene, was enacted for the crash at 1000 North Lake Shore Drive, according to Fire Media Affairs Chief Kevin MacGregor.

Three cars crashed, according to police News Affairs Officer Michael Sullivan.

MacGregor said one vehicle also struck a wall.

There were ten patients, including six children, who were all taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital. The children were in good condition and four adults were in fair condition, MacGregor said.

The ambulance plan was secured at 1:05 p.m.
