1 Dead, Another Wounded In Shooting

CHICAGO (STMW) - One man is dead and another is wounded after a shooting Thursday night in the Back of the Yards neighborhood on the South Side, police said.

Two men, in their 20s, were shot in the 1800 block of West 56th Street at 8:15 p.m., according to police News Affairs Officer Daniel O'Brien.

One man was dead on the scene and the other was taken to Stroger Hospital of Cook County with gunshot wounds to the arm and leg. His condition was not immediately available.

No one is in custody.

The Cook County Medical Examiner's office could not immediately confirm the fatality Thursday night.

Wentworth Area detectives are investigating.
